| About the boat: | Designed by Cmdr D A Rayner, these strong sloops made westerly's name as strong, reliable family boats with a good sailing performance. Arghiro had a Johnson 9.9 outboard trolley mounted in a stern locker. It could be easily lowered & raised singlehanded and when sailing was completely out of sight. She was also Bermudian rigged (some were gaff) and had 4 bethrs in a single open plan cabin with almost 6' headroom under the hatch, reducing to about 4'6" at the forward berths.
Sold in '88 to a chap with a mooring on Loch Etive, and then about 7-8 years later to a couple of lads from the Scottish East Coast. |
